Events and Festivals

McBride and the surrounding communities of the Robson Valley honour their pioneer history and relationship with the mountains and rivers of the area with a number of popular and long-standing events throughout the year.

Music fills the air in Dunster with the annual Robson Valley Music Festival while the Dunster Ice-cream social attracts dessert lovers from across the valley. McBride’s annual Bung Bung event celebrates all things snowmobiling while Pioneer Days and the Fraser Heritage Festival reminds locals of their roots on the land.

McBride is pleased to announce the return of the BC DragiT Challenge in June. This event drew 100 racers to McBride’s airport last year and was a crowd pleaser. We are thrilled to welcome them back!

June

  • Summer McBride Farmer’s Market

    Held every Friday in Steve Kolida Park during the summer, the McBride Farmer’s Market brings together local growers and crafters to sell their wares.

  • Pioneer Days Weekend in McBride

    June 5-7, 2026

    Organized by McBride Elks and Royal Purple, this annual celebration of McBride’s pioneer history is held on the first weekend of June. Events include Kids Races, a popular Slo-Pitch Tournament, Dance with Live Band, Logger Sports, a parade down Main Street, Memorial Horseshoe Tournament, Show and Shine and so much more.   • BC Drag-iT Challenge

    June 20, 2026

    The BC DragiT Challenge is a 5-day event where street legal racers drive to four race locations in communities across BC. The 2026 drag and drive event will include a stop at McBride’s Charlie Leake Airfield on Saturday, June 20th, where close to 100 racers will be timed on the airport runway!

    Where: McBride’s Airport (Charlie Leake Field)

    When: Saturday, June 20, 2026. Gates open at 8:30am, Racing starts at 9:00am

    Fee: $10 per person (children under 13 FREE)

    BBQ: Provided by McBride Elks and Royal Purple

    During the BC DragiT event, all racers are required to drive the whole event with only their car and no support vehicle. The BC DragiT Challenge is the ultimate stamina test for race cars and drivers! Race organizers are thrilled to be heading back to McBride in 2026 and thank Village Council and staff, Chuck Rollinson, Elks and Royal Purple, the Men’s Shed, and many others for getting involved to help make this event possible.

  • Dunster Ice Cream Social

    Saturday, June 27, 2026

    This well attended event on the last Saturday of June at the Dunster Hall features all-you-can-eat ice cream, cake and pie, followed by a dance.

     

Horses Pioneer Days

July

  • Canada Day in Steve Kolida Park

    This festival brings together community members for a BBQ, kids games, singing of O’Canada, and an enormous cake. Fireworks in the evening top off a day of celebrating Canada’s birthday.

  • Annual Poker Ride

    August 16, 2025 – Save the Date

    The Robson Valley Chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen BC brings you their annual Poker Ride.

    Where: Staging area at the Renshaw Parking Lot. Horse camping available.

  • Robson Valley Mushroom Festival

    September 26-28, 2025 – Dunster Schoolhouse

    The Robson Valley Mushroom Festival is an annual event held in the small farming community of Dunster, located in the Robson Valley region of British Columbia, Canada. This festival is a celebration and exploration of the wild mushrooms that grow in this region. We will be hosting a variety of educational presentations, workshops, and guided foraging tours throughout the festival weekend.
