Fraser River Challenge 2026

A modern expedition inspired by a legacy!
30 years after Fin Donnelly swam the length of the Fraser River to draw attention for the need for increased habitat protection on the river, four women will undertake a bold 1,400km swim down the Fraser River, along with a concurrent Rivershed Walk, and Canoe and Raft Journeys, with the goal to protect 30% of the Fraser Watershed by 2030.
When: August 7 – September 5, 2026
Where: Fraser River headwaters at Mount Robson, through Tete Jaune, Dunster, and McBride before heading towards Prince George, and, ultimately, the Pacific Ocean
How can you participate? Come to the Dunster Community Hall for a potluck dinner on Friday, August 7 at 6:00pm for presentations and a screening of the Taylor Bachrach film Full Circle. See more info about the event in Dunster at Dunster Event Information
