Robson Valley Recreation Centre

The Robson Valley Recreation Centre is located at 461 Columbia Street, McBride, in the beautiful Robson Valley.

The 30,000 ft 2 Recreation Centre offers recreational activities year round. Opportunities include a regulation size hockey arena that seats five hundred, two sheets of curling ice and a 125 seat lounge.

Rink surfaces are used for roller hockey, tennis, indoor soccer and social events such as weddings and dances in the summer.

The Recreation Centre fitness facility, the FITPIT, offers equipment such as steppers and treadmills, recumbent bikes, 8 Paramount toning machines and a full line of free weights. The Centre also offers a convertacourt.

This moving wall system allows users to play squash, racquetball, wallyball and basketball. Prices are affordable with extra discounts on season’s passes- ask the arena staff for details.

Current Open Hours

When the ice is out of the arena, staff set up family friendly games such as mini golf, mini curling, pickle ball, mini bowling, ping-pong, and create space for roller blading and ball hockey.

Next door to the Recreation Centre is the Robson Valley Community Centre, conveniently located and appointed for meetings, weddings, dances and other larger or coordinated events.

Curling

McBride has an active curling community with the local Curling Club hosting two bonspiels every winter,  the annual Ladies’ Bonspiel in February and the mixed Loggers Bonspiel in March. The Robson Valley Recreation Centre boasts 2  sheets of ice and a lounge, maintained by the club. More information is available at Facebook

Figure Skating

McBride Figure Skating Club is active from October to March. Their pre-Christmas Exhibition and Winter Carnival in March are guaranteed to fill the bleachers at the Rec Centre.

Ice Hockey

Hockey programs for everyone at the Robson Valley Recreation Centre from October to March: Minor Hockey for Tykes, Atoms, Peewee, Bantams, Midgets; McBride Maniacs Ladies Hockey Team; Veneer Kings and the Oldtimers Hockey Club. Watch for tournaments and special events such as 1 Service Battalion from Edmonton versus McBride Oldtimers, fun and a fundraiser for the local Food Bank.

Racket Sports

The Recreation Centre offers a convert a court. This moving wall system allows users to play squash, racquetball, wallaby and basketball. Racquets and balls are available with court booking. Call 250-569-3360 for more information.
